History

The tradition of annual lesbian European volleyball tournaments started in 1989. Before that there were already international gay tournaments, but not many lesbian teams participated. Plus they were eliminated in an early stage since they could not beat the men teams. A bunch of Berlin women decided to organize a tournament for lesbian teams only. They did it twice and from then on the Eulevoto was organized by a different city each year.

1994 Vienna

Dear lesbians, dear volleyball-players! Welcome to Vienna! Vienna is different … Servus – servas! We finally made it. Lets face it – we are worked and worn out, mia san am Semmerl (in good old viennese slang). All of us but Gisi hesitated to organise the next lesbian volleyball tournament.
